Privacy Policy for Smart Outfit

Last Updated: August 23, 2026 | Version 1.1

The Smart Outfit mobile application ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Smart Outfit (the "App") on iOS devices and when you visit our marketing website at smart-outfit.com (the "Website"). The App uses AI to create personalized outfit recommendations based on photos of your clothing, helping you organize your wardrobe and share outfits. This policy complies with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not use the App or the Website.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information when you use the App:

a. Personal Information

  • Account Information: When you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address (including anonymized email addresses via Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature), and a unique user ID provided by these services through Firebase Authentication.
  • User Content: Photos of clothing you upload to the App, outfit preferences, and any other content you voluntarily provide (e.g., saved outfits or notes). These photos are stored securely and are not shared with third-party services.
  • Shared Content: If you choose to share outfits with friends via the App, we may collect information related to the sharing process, such as recipient contact details you provide.

b. Non-Personal Information

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, such as features used (e.g., outfit creation, wardrobe management), time spent on the App, and navigation patterns.
  • Device Information: Information about your iOS device, including device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and IP address.
  • Diagnostic Information: Anonymized data, such as crash reports and performance metrics, to monitor and improve the App’s stability and performance. This data is not linked to your identity.
  • Analytics: We use third-party analytics tools (e.g., Firebase Analytics) to collect anonymized data about App usage to improve functionality and user experience. We do not collect advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA) for analytics purposes.

d. This Website

If you visit the Website and accept analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity. GA4 records page views, locale, and taps on the App Store button. Clarity records anonymised session replays, heatmaps, and interaction signals (for example rage clicks). These tools use cookies and similar identifiers, may process your IP address, and are provided by Google and Microsoft. Nothing from these tools is loaded, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you click Accept on the cookie banner. You can decline, or ignore the banner, and the Website works the same. We do not use advertising cookies or advertising identifiers on the Website. See Google’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement.

c. Information from Third Parties

We use Firebase Authentication to enable Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In. Through Firebase, we receive your name, email address (including anonymized emails from Apple), and a unique user ID. If you connect the App to other third-party services (e.g., social media platforms for sharing outfits), we may receive additional information from those services in accordance with their privacy policies. We obtain your consent via in-app prompts before collecting analytics data or sharing content with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the App, including authenticating users via Firebase Authentication and generating AI-driven outfit recommendations based on your uploaded clothing photos.
  • Personalize your experience by tailoring outfit suggestions to your wardrobe, preferences, colors, trends, and seasons.
  • Enable wardrobe organization and allow you to save and share outfits.
  • Improve the App’s functionality, AI algorithms, stability, and user experience using diagnostic and analytics data.
  • Send you updates, notifications, or promotional materials (with your consent, obtained via in-app prompts or account settings).
  • Respond to your inquiries or provide customer support.
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to enhance the App’s performance.
  • Comply with legal obligations or protect our legal rights.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting in Ireland, Firebase for authentication and in-app analytics, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for Website analytics (only after you accept cookies), or AI processing services. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data. User-uploaded photos are not shared with these third-party services.
  • Sharing Features: If you share outfits with others through the App or via social media platforms, only the content you select (e.g., outfit images) is disclosed to the recipients or platforms. No additional personal data (e.g., name, email) is shared without your consent.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, subpoena, or regulatory request.
  • Business Transfers: If the App is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties if you provide explicit consent, such as through in-app prompts.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your information, including user-uploaded photos, is stored on secure servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ireland. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures, such as encryption and access controls, to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information, including account details and uploaded photos, only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. For example, uploaded clothing photos and saved outfits are retained until you delete them or your account is terminated.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information under laws like GDPR and CCPA:

  • Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you, including uploaded photos, account details, or saved outfits.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, such as clothing photos, account data, or saved outfits, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of receiving promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or adjusting your account settings.
  • Data Portability: Request a copy of your personal information (e.g., saved outfits) in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Restrict Processing: Request that we restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances (e.g., under GDPR).

To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@smart-outfit.com. We may require verification of your identity before processing your request. For EU users, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your country.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses Firebase Authentication to enable Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, through which we collect your name, email address (including anonymized emails from Apple), and unique user ID. The App may also integrate with other third-party services (e.g., social media platforms for sharing outfits). The Website uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, only after you accept analytics cookies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, including Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Firebase. Please review their privacy policies (Firebase Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, Microsoft Privacy Statement) before using these services.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, in compliance with COPPA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information is processed and stored on AWS servers in Ireland. If you are located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), your information may be transferred to Ireland for processing. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR, by implementing appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, App features, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or through other means (e.g., email notifications). Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
